All LRYSA U4 & U5/6 Games are back on this Saturday, November 8th.
After review of all available field space and times, LRYSA has decided to continue to use Oso Grande Park for all U4 and U5/6 Games. This field space is the most conducive to our play format with the available field lining (U6 Field & U8 Field). The other possible Venues are either not available until 3:30pm or 4:00pm, are too large / spaced out for our needs, or are only available in the morning, which would cause a dramatic change to the schedule to which you have all become accustomed.
Therefore, we believe it is in everyone’s best interests to keep things as consistent as possible with the Venue and Times. Although we will make a slight change in the time for the U5/6 Games due to the earlier sunset, all else will remain relatively the same.
Below is the remaining Game Schedule for the Fall Season:
Saturday, November 8th
Saturday, November 15th
Saturday, November 22nd
U4: 3:15-4:15pm – Oso Grande Park
U5/6: 3:45-4:45pm – Oso Grande Park
U4: Oso Grande Park, U6 Field
U5/6: Oso Grande Park, U8 Field
On a related note, we are working with our Trophy Supplier on our trophy options for all of the kids, and will plan to have them for presentation at the final Game Date of Saturday, November 22nd.
As LRYSA strives to continue our efforts of developing our players both on and off the field, one of our cornerstones is working with other local non-profit charitable organizations to truly make a difference. In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, LRYSA is doing our part to raise awareness through our own pink campaign (socks, shoelaces, hair bows, etc.) spread across our teams. In addition, we are providing financial support as well as service hour support to a worthy cause focused on early detection of Breast Cancer.
On behalf of LRYSA, we’d like to extend an invitation to attend and support our Player Development Partner, Ladera Ranch Strength & Conditioning (LRSAC) in their fundraising event this Saturday, October 25th at their location of 1901 Corporate Drive Ladera Ranch, CA 92694 (www.lrstrength.com).
LRSAC offers a wide variety of adult and kids group fitness classes focused on Functional Intense Training (F.I.T.) and for the youth athlete looking for an edge, they offer a specialty program called SPEED F.I.T. This course develops fast twitch, explosive muscle movements. Many of our GU13 Competitive Strikers FC Ladera Ranch members have been training through SPEED F.I.T. and the improvements have been extremely noticeable by both the parents and coaches.
Saturday, October 25th from 8:00 am – 10:00 am, LRSAC is hosting their first annual Breast Cancer Awareness Event benefiting Barbells for Boobs (www.barbellsforboobs.org), which is an organization focused on early detection for women and men under 40. We are proud to sponsor this event and support LRSAC as they continue their mission to deliver a healthier and more F.I.T. Ladera Ranch and surrounding area community.
The event kicks off at 8:00 am and lasts until 10:00 am with the following agenda:
8:00 am – Welcome gathering
8:15 am – Dynamic warmup
8:30 am – “Fighter” – The athletes and members will participate in a particularly “grueling” workout appropriately named “Fighter”
9:00 am – Special – “Coaches Battle Fighter”
8:00-10:00 am – There will be raffle prizes, breakfast burritos from Chela’s Mexican, coffee, bounce house, etc. There are plenty of opportunities to drop in, meet the coaches, and collect any info you might want, while supporting this great cause.
Also, for those kids that might need Community Service Hours, this is a great opportunity. Contact for more information.
Thank you for your continued support. We hope to see you there!
LRYSA U4, U5, & U6 Players,
Thank you all for your patience while we have worked out the venue / time details for our U4, U5, and U6 Programs. Identifying an open block of time to run the program this Fall Season was not as easy as it has been in the past, and we apologize for the delay in the details.
As previously announced, we will be having our Opening Introduction Day for our U4, U5, & U6 Players tomorrow, Saturday, September 20th.
Oso Grande Park
1 Covenant Hills Road
Ladera Ranch, CA 92694
We will be on the Park Field, and not the elementary school field. However, you are welcome to park in either the Oso Grande Elementary School Parking Lot or the Oso Grande Park Parking Lot.
3:15-4:15pm Under 4 Program Players Born Between August 2010 to July 2011
4:30-5:30pm Under 5 & Under 6 Programs Players Born August 2008 to July 2010
Tomorrow’s session will be an Introductory Session for all players in which we will provide age appropriate Player Training followed by informal gaming. In addition, we will identify Uniform Sizing, any necessary Player Evaluation, and Team Assignment.
All players in the U4, U5, and U6 Programs will be required to have their own Shin guards, Cleats, and Size 3 Ball. We encourage you to obtain these items at our Official Supplier of Dick’s Sporting Goods in Ladera Ranch.
Those of you who have expressed an interest in coaching should report to me tomorrow upon your arrival, so we can discuss the details of your role. If you have not yet identified your desire to coach, then please either email Keith Townson at directly or see Keith upon arrival tomorrow.
For some of these players, this may likely be their first soccer experience. If any of your children are struggling, then please be as patient as possible with them. We encourage parent involvement, if it is necessary to ensure your child engages in the program. We just want all of our kids to enjoy themselves.
We look forward to getting all of your children on the field tomorrow!
Thank you all for registering your child for our upcoming Fall 2014 Soccer Season. We have almost 100 players registered in our Younger Divisions, and another 300 registered in our Older Divisions. Thank you for helping to make this Fall our largest Season yet.
Our Opening Day of Games for the U4, U5, and U6 Divisions is set for Saturday, September 20th. Please mark your calendars.
We are finishing up our Volunteer Identification to help run the program. As a reminder, LRYSA is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Volunteer Run Program. If any of you wish to volunteer your time to help the children of our program (Coach, Assistant Coach, Team Manager, Field Set Up, etc.), then please contact with your desired role.
We are also finishing up our preparations on our Ladera Ranch Fields and arranging Saturday Game Times.
Regarding Uniforms, all players in the U4, U5, and U6 Divisions will be provided with their own uniform set consisting of Jersey, Shorts, and Socks.
Regarding Equipment, all players in the U4, U5, and U6 Divisions will be required to have their own Shin Guards, Cleats, and Size 3 Ball. We encourage you to obtain these items at our Official Supplier of Dick’s Sporting Goods in Ladera Ranch.
